Food for thought

It was difficult to slip into the bar without being noticed, especially since no-one was there, yet, as usual he managed to pull it off.

Slinking slowly along the wall, not making a sound, he slipped into the corner and began a deep contemplation.

"I hope they never recover, how could they have done that?! May their honour fall to pieces..."

Still meditating he seemed to relive the moments in his mind, not completely but enough to make out what was happening...

It was in a clearing...what seemed like bamboo was all around...tall bamboo...

Screams...there were definately screams...or was it what he had imagined...he was rather confused...unsure of where he was or how he had got there

lights...bright lights around him...some of the foliage may have been alight...it was impossible to tell...

Xcelia walked into the bar, pausing as she saw a young man sitting on his own. "You alright?" She asked, stanind in front of him.

Donatello awoke from his meditation. Noticing there was someone else in the bar, and noticing that they had noticed him, was a little discomforting.

He had employed his most advanced skills to try to remain hidden.

Was he losing his touch?

They were talking to him! This was not good. He was stuck for words...

"I am fine. Thank-you for your concern"

This could be a disaster.

Might she find out who he was...?

Or what he had done...

Xcelia raised an eyebrow and sat next to him. "Can I buy you a drink? You look a little pale." She smirked. "Unless of course you're naturally pale like me." Not waiting for an answer she orded them two drinks.

She seemed like she could be trusted.

Gratefully accepting the drink he said "I tend to be pale, I am from cold climes"

Xcelia nodded a little. "Same, well France isnt excatly cold but oh well." She laughed, the sound harsh even to her own ears.

Donny had never met a French person before. In fact he had never seen anyone besides the people from his village. Though, this French Vampire seemed nice.

In an incredibly un-usual turn of events he decided to make conversation.

"So, why did you come to Chicago?"

Xcelia shrugged. "I came here with ze man I loved." She paused and downed her drink in one. "We are no longer together. So, what brought you here?" Then she paused again. "I'm Xcelia Le Phantom by ze way." For some reason her French accent was coming out thicker than usual.

"I had no choice but to come here, there were...there were problems in my native Japan, I had to leave, it was for my life"

Staring at the wall, lost in his own thoughts Donatello took a sip from his drink. It burned as it went down.

And yet again, he temporarily became lost in thought..

Xcelia sighed and clicked a finger in front of his face. "Wake up dearie. I have introduced myself, but you have not. What iz you're name?" He accent thinned a little. Good.

"A pleasure Mr Yoshi. A pleasure indeed." She smiled, careful not to show any fang. "You want another drink?" Her accent was pretty much gone now. That was the way she liked it.

Donny was thinking, would this person ask about his past? Would she ask him to retell what he had relived a thousand times? This might be interesting, albeit dangerous.

"May I buy you another drink Miss Xcelia?"

She smiled and shook her head. "No thank you I'm quite alright." She leant back a little, taking off her hat and shaking her long silver hair free a little. "So...Donny, what was the situation like in Japan when you left? I heard it was suffering somewhat."
